Auro is pleased to be associated with this prestigious project.
We would like to congratulate Pat Borer on building Britain’s Best Building of 2010 – as voted for by the Daily Telegraph.
The building has also been voted number four in The Guardians top ten buildings of 2010 and has been nominated for
two prestigious awards – the European Mies Van de Rohe and the Architects Journal Award.
We are very pleased to say that the WISE building used Auro Products for most of the interior decoration. Our 322
professional wall emulsion, 160 coloured wood stains and 129 oil/wax impregnation system were all used to brilliant effect.
Having been there myself and taken a tour of the building during the AECB conference in October I must say the overall
look is absolutely stunning. We are very pleased too have played a part in this project and wish Pat and the team every
success for the future and for the nominations above.
Pat Borer – author of The Whole House Book, which is published by the Centre for Alternative Technology and on sale
at www.greenshop.co.uk – won the endorsement for his WISE building, co-designed with David Lea who is also at the
Centre. The Telegraph described the WISE project , standing for Wales Institute for Sustainable Education –
as "ravishingly beautiful", we couldn’t agree more.
